A baby was strapped to my back as one crawled inside the playground. I stayed up all night days, for months, sanding and stripping wallpaper with one child. Ha! It was all starting to take shape, however we weren't anywhere near finished. This was going take money, effort, as well as my personal favorite to complete the interior of this house. In order to stay in the realm of budgets, I took to by taking my sons to estate sales looking for of diamonds. The schedule we had for the week which consisted of spending the week from the week of Thursday to Saturday scouring sale houses and garages, shopping for new and used things. I then spent the remainder of the week painting and sanding on the driveway. The look was a little like the following... Here is the place where my passion for restoring antique furniture started. After our home was fully decorated, I couldn't stop! I had a space at the local market and even sold some items there. Then, my collection got enough that the area I had available was inadequate. My home became a place where I would host open houses. Up 1000 people would be able to view the items on my first floor before purchasing these items. Growing Days was founded in my house. My company was flourishing, but my family was also growing. I was trying to find that perfect balance between what it took starting a business while also being a mommy. Growing Days fit perfectly. Nora joined us in 2013 and became our fourth baby. My business's direction was fantastic, but I had to take some time off. I decided to quit building my old furniture for a while and stay home with the children. It was exactly what I was looking for. It wasn't until a couple of months when the phones began to be ringing. They asked for my help in interior decoration and renovations. These were mostly customers that came to my house for furniture. While I was working I added new clients each day. However, it didn't take that long before I was managing multiple clients and ran an extremely successful business of home renovation. If you'd have predicted that this venture that I started would become the basis of a television show for the DIY Network I probably would have been astonished. As I reflect back, it still makes me smile.
